How to tame a obstinate orchid (part 2)

Oncidium
A very bright orchid, which in the form of its flowers has preserved the features of wild orchids. It blooms approximately every 8 months with flowering for about 1.5 months. The plant forms pseudobulbs, which means that this orchid is easier to pour than to dry. 7 beginner orchid care tips for beginners (part 2)

Tip 3. Smart watering orchids
The love of orchids and their tropical origin should not mislead you. In most cases, orchids are sufficient to water about once a week. It is better to water the orchid by immersion in water or by the method of showering, while the first method is much simpler and more reliable. A pot of orchid is immersed in a container with rain or other soft water so that the substrate is well saturated with moisture (no more than 20-30 minutes). If you are lucky and your tap water is not hard and suitable for taking care of indoor plants, then you can even turn the plants under the tap or soak an earthen clod with a shower, but remember that the water should never be cold. As soon as the water completely saturates the substrate, carefully remove the container on a stand or pan and let all excess water drain (it should not stagnate around the roots of orchids and remain in the pan). Anthracnosis disease – prevention

Prevention is the best treatment (golden words). It must be firmly remembered that the causative agents of infection can already be on the seed that you hold in your hands, on any garden tools that almost no one ever disinfects, but does not wash, as well as in irrigation water (for example, good old black barrel painted in the garden), as well as on the wings or other parts of the body of insects.

As soon as humidity rises and the conditions mentioned above arise, microorganisms become activated immediately, the disease itself begins to progress. To build protection against anthracnose, it is necessary to observe crop rotation, always disinfect the seeds before sowing, even if they are collected by your own hands, remove plant debris from the garden and orchard, and it is advisable to dig the soil so that large clods do not collapse, then the infection hidden in the soil has every chance of freezing.
