Diseases, pests and growing problems
This is one of the most enduring orchids. Rot is the only thing that threatens it, with the exception of the risk of infection in severely neglected and affected collections, where the problems of neighbors can also be thrown onto phalaenopsis tetraspis.
Propagation of four-flowered phalaenopsis
Despite the fact that phalaenopsis is so popular, already by their luxurious varieties one can judge about the difficulties of reproduction. Children are rarely formed, and in order to wait for offspring, you will have to be patient.
There is simply no other way to grow a new phalaenopsis at home. Children are formed only in the heat and at very high humidity.
Phalaenopsis often forms daughter plants not on stems, but on peduncles, when cute miniature rosettes of several leaves grow from sleeping buds, which the aerial roots themselves do not always release.
If there are signs of root development, then the separation is carried out after they grow to a length of 5 cm. If the roots do not form for months, then it is better to try to root the baby, the development of which will go to the detriment of flowering on this peduncle.
Accurate separation and rooting in a moist substrate (riskier in water with coal additives) allows you to get a fast-growing mini-orchid that will produce a flower stalk in a few years.
